Which Asia-Pacific countries have a private equity or venture capital association? Fifteen associations, across thirteen countries and territories. Every one was checked against its own website on a stated date, and the ones that could not be confirmed are named as such rather than quietly dropped.

The associations

Is there a private equity or venture capital association in Australia?

Yes — Australian Investment Council in Sydney, founded 1992. It covers PE, VC and private credit.

Is there a private equity or venture capital association in China?

Yes — China Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA), founded 2002. It covers VC and PE.

Note on the acronym. CVCA is shared by four associations — China, Canada, Croatia and Czechia. This is the most heavily overloaded acronym in the directory.

Is there a private equity or venture capital association in Chinese Taipei?

Yes — two:

• Taiwan Private Equity Association (TPEA), founded 13 January 2023 — PE.
• Taiwan Venture Capital Association (TVCA) — VC.

Is there a private equity or venture capital association in Hong Kong?

Yes — Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HKVCA), founded 1987. It covers PE and VC.

Yes — Indian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (IVCA) in New Delhi / Mumbai, founded 1993. It covers PE, VC, credit and infrastructure.

Yes — Asosiasi Modal Ventura dan Startup Indonesia (AMVESINDO) in Jakarta. It covers VC and startups.

• Japan Private Equity Association (JPEA), Chiyoda, Tokyo, founded 1 August 2005, with eight member companies — PE.

Yes — Malaysia Private Capital Association (MPCA) in Kuala Lumpur / Petaling Jaya, founded 1995. It covers VC, growth equity, PE, private credit and alternatives.

Yes — New Zealand Private Capital in Auckland. It covers PE and VC.
