The Global Directory of Fund-Manager Regulators

Nearly every diligence checklist a family office relies on is a checklist for a US manager. The SEC's adviser database, FINRA BrokerCheck, and EDGAR — the three tools every incumbent guide points to — cover firms registered or reporting in the United States and nothing else. A manager based in Frankfurt, Mumbai, or São Paulo doesn't show up in any of them, and the absence tells you nothing on its own. Private Capital Development built the reference the checklists skip: the regulator, and its live register, for eighteen jurisdictions.
The table below names the regulator and links directly to its register for every one of the 18. No jurisdiction in this edition's scope has been left out, and no regulator paid for inclusion or was offered placement. What the table cannot carry — what each register actually confirms, what it doesn't, and the specific blind spots a first-time searcher would hit — is in the directory itself.
No public register of registers existed to close this gap. The nearest thing — a checklist that even gestures at jurisdictions beyond the US — names one or two examples and stops. So we checked every register directly, on a stated date, and published what we found, including the ones we could not confirm, marked as such rather than dropped silently.
Regulator names link directly to the register. "Confirmed live" reflects a direct fetch on 18 September 2026; where a register is flagged, the directory names the specific reason.

The table above answers which regulator and which register. The directory answers what a clean result actually confirms, what it doesn't, and where the tool has a blind spot a first-time searcher would otherwise discover the hard way — a jurisdiction a register silently excludes, a category that has to be picked correctly, a second query that's easy to miss. Every entry carries the date it was checked.

This edition covers the G20's constituent economies plus the European Union's cross-border marketing mechanic. China and Russia are excluded from this edition entirely — deliberately, by scope, not because a register could not be found. Russia is excluded from this directory as a matter of firm policy; that is a decision about where Private Capital Development works, not a finding about any institution.
For the fuller walk-through of what a register check can and can't tell you before a first meeting, see Where to Look Up a Fund Manager If Not in the USA.
If a register has moved, a regulator's name has changed, or something here is simply wrong, tell us. Corrections carry no obligation of any kind and are folded into the next edition. Every entry is drawn from the regulator's own published material, and any regulator may correct its entry at any time by contacting us; the entries, and any judgment in them, remain ours.
Private Capital Development is a capital mobilization and brand-building firm — the bridge between fund managers and the institutional investors who allocate to them. We are not a placement agent, we do not sell securities, and we are not compensated on capital raised. Private Capital Development is not affiliated with, accredited to, or endorsed by the United Nations; the release timing marks the occasion and claims nothing more.
